Oh look it's ELMO

Okaay. Remember when you were five and used to wait for that time patiently until Sesame Street or Winne The Pooh used to come on TV?

Well, I'm not sure that teenagers will still WATCH those shows but they can totally wear them. Cute cartoon character print tees and sweaters are Ah-dorable. They're cute, stylish but still let out your inner kid.

This adorable Elmo sweatshirt from Forever 21 is a great fit with a pair of jeans. This gives Elmo an edgier, more updated look but still stays true to the amazing TV show.
Who can resist the cute little cookie monster? ( I still can't believe they call him the fruit and veggie monster). This tee is so cute and perfect for casual days.
This cute Hello Kitty sweater makes me want to rush to my local Forever 21 and buy one this minute.

Accessories

Have outfits that need brightning up? Don't want to spend a bunch of money getting new ones? Well, you can try the clothes swap shop (see blog archive). But another fun way to brighten up some dull outfits or just highlight them or make normal outfits look better: Accessories.

A plain gray top with a plain black skirt can easily be 'funky-fied' by adding a chique dark purple scarf. Wear a black bead bracelet with some simple purple stud earrings. Cool or what?

Or maybe a red top with flowers on it and some plain jeans. Adding a funky brown bead necklace will make it look so much more chique. Try it out.

Every outfit can look better witht the right accessories. Still not inspired? Look at the pictures

You could have accessories lying around your house. But if you want a couple more, there are great shops around. You could try local kiosks and store (there are many in the mall). If you want more specialized stuff, you could go to Accesorize. A cheaper alternative is Claire's. You could go onto their websites for specialized pieces and check if it's in your local store. You could also order on Amazon or the equivelant of it in your country or Ebay.

Have Fun!

The Dress

Many girls don't wear dresses anymore. They think it makes them look babyish. They think that the daffodil colour party dress that their mother picked out last summer is soooo out of style. Here are some do's and dont's on how to pull off a dress without looking six.

Do

Straight dresses with funky belts at the waist
One colour end-above-the knee
Flowery Prints (But make sure they don't look too 1944 ish)
Prints and Graphics
Ruffles at the front
Tank top straps
Cool accesories
Sundresses
Striped straight dresses
Sequins (But make sure they don't look babyish or tacky)
Playsuits/ Rompers (Not exactly dresses but they fall into my category of dresses)
Satinish tasteful dresses for formal occasions
Bows
Jackets
Light materials
Flowers
Tights
Sewn On Sash/Belt for formal dresses
Two different parts sewn together (could be different colours)
Black top and different skirt sewn together
Netted overskirt

Don't

Flouncy Party Dresses
Flouncy+ Lace+ Sparkles
Super tight (so tight that your body can't breath)
Full of slits
Super short
Pastel colours with loud coloured belts
Sparkles/ Sequins tackily arranged
Strange colour combos like shocking pink with electric blue
Too many bows
Too many flowers

Cliquy-Cool-Competitive Books

If you're a reader and want to read something girly-cool, i'd recommend The Clique. The Clique is a series by Lisi Harrison (Who also wrote Monster High).

The First Book's Cover

The books are about the Pretty Commitee (Massie, Alicia, Dylan, Kristena and Claire (who joins later)). The books are about their life in glamourous Westchester, New York. Massie, Alicia and Dylan are rich. Kristen isn't. She's going to scholarship at OCD (Octavian County Day, the school which the PC attends). Claire is Jay Lyons, Massie's dad's best friends's, daughter. She lives in the guesthouse on the Block Estate (Massie's estate). It's also about their crushes Cam, Derrington, Chris and Josh.

It's a really cool and fun series so you may want to try it.

If you are more of a rider, the Canterwood Crest series is a must read.

The Fourth Canterwood Crest Book

Canterwood Crest is about Sasha, Heather, Alison, Callie Harper, Paige, Brit, Jasmine, Jacob and Erik. It's about competitive horse riding, mean girls and the advanced team. In the book Initiation, it's not about Sasha and Co anymore. It's about Lauren, Khloe, Lexa, Clare and Riley.

It's a fun horse themed show.

Clothes Swap Shop

Tired of the same old clothes and want some new ones but your parents think that your old clothes are fine and won't buy you new ones (or won't let you buy new ones yourself). So unfair! So get those new clothes by listening to your parents. Don't go shopping, go swapping.

Have a swapping party at your house (or maybe at your friend's house). Remember to invite four or five people at least and make sure that at least one of those people are similar in size to you (if not the same). If you want, call some trendy dressers whose clothes you envy and want. Tell everyone to get unwanted (but not torn or stained) clothes. Put all the clothes in a heap. Sometimes, choosing who goes first is a bit hard. A quick and easy way to decide this is a dice roll (whoever gets the highest number goes first. If two people get the same, roll again).
Soon, all the clothes will be gone.

It's a foolproof plan, a cool money saver and a fun 'swapping trip' with your friends

This Ah-mazing look inspired by the beautiful and stylish Selena Gomez.
